Job description

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Accounts Payable Specialist works independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Set up new vendors in accounting system, ensuring all appropriate tax paperwork has been completed and signed (i.e., W9, W8BEN, or W8BENE)
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, details and approval prior to entry into accounting system
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Audit and input credit card activity
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Create and learn role-related processes, procedures, and best practices
  • Keep abreast of changes in area(s) of expertise and responsibility via participation in ongoing professional development and training as determined in collaboration with primary supervisor and Human Resources team
  • Perform other duties, functions, responsibilities, projects and provide assistance as necessary

Job requirements

Must haves:

  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
  • High School diploma required-college courses in accounting preferred
  • Must be well organized, a self starter, and have a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to type 60-65 wpm
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelines
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations fluently
  • Experience working in esports entertainment, broadcasting or other entertainment industry is preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
